Gamification | Articulate Rise 360 | Articulate Storyline | Videos & Animation

Due to the nature of my work, most of the training events, curriculum, videos, and documents that I have designed and developed for Verizon and Samsung cannot be shared. Below, however, are a few examples of several previously public-facing projects.

Gamification and Learning Games

Hidden Things board game

Inspired by the popularity of Stranger Things, I created this physical board game back in 2020 to help our Field Sales Managers learn about – and more importantly, practice demoining and selling – the then-new Galaxy S20 Series.

Approximately 450 learners participated in this hands-on device training.

Each card type had the learner perform a different sales function. Demo cards encouraged the learners to demonstrate the “hidden features” of the new device. Competitive cards forced the learners, who represented different districts, to compete against each other. (They LOVED that!) The Positioning cards helped the learners to practice selling the no ew device and its features. Finally, the Challenge card was used to help each table “self-police” each other to free up the trainers and facilitators.

Device card game

This card game, inspired by Uno, was created for our Field Sales Managers to play with their audience; carrier and big box sales representatives.

Roll of Fortune

This simple dice game gamified role-play for those who don’t like role-play exercises. The learner would role the customer profile and device dice, and then craft a demo and sales pitch to role-play with their sales manager.

As physical training events have moved to a virtual/digital environment, we’ve included as much interaction through gamification as possible. Following are a few online learning games I used as part of my online learning events.

License to Skill: Positioning Royale

License to Skill was a two-part learning session dedicated to a new product launch. Positioning Royle, an online card game, was the second session and focused on helping the learners to better position the new product features.

I created the theme, the idea, the game, and the content, and then worked with a very talented agency that helped to bring my vision to life.

Samsung Connected LIFE Powered by 5G

Samsung Connected LIFE was a 90-minute virtual training session designed to help the learner better understand how Samsung devices, content, and services all work together to create a world-class communication and entertainment ecosystem.

Additionally, the training also addressed how 5G positively affects our ecosystem. This online crossword puzzle was created as a fun way to reinforce the content presented in the video below.

While I did not create the video, I did write the script and worked with our videographer to see it come to fruition.

5G Squares

After the success of the 5G module from the Samsung Connected LIFE training event, I decided to continue the 5G training at our next training event.

5G Tonight was a video-heavy online training session that ended with this 5G positioning activity. The game was played in Adobe Connect breakout rooms. The facilitators performed all required navigation for two teams who competed against each other.

A is for Awesome, an eLearning for the Samsung Galaxy A Series, is an introductory OLT for a partner. The partner’s request was to preset the three devices as good, better, and best.

Articulate Storyline Examples

I created three individual e-Learnings for our latest retail go-to-market product launch. One product training each for two new devices. And one combined right-sizing simulation.

These two items are less eLearning and more of skills or personality tests. Both use the same logic and triggers but give two different results; Strongest Leadership Skills and areas of Opportunities.

While I rarely use templates, the two “profile” items above were based on found templates from eLearning Heros and updated accordingly.

Videos and Animation

I created this video to build upon the overcoming objections document provided as part of the product training.

Smart Switch in three easy steps is a short how-to video utilizing both screen capture and Vyond.

5G Tech Talk Summary is a brief video that I made in Vyond to summarize and level-set a previous training session before the learners moved into a learning activity, the Samsung 5G Squares game from above.

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G IP67 is a brief video I created in Vyond to be used in a Galaxy A53 5G eLearning.

Hidden Things was a nine-part animated series experiment. Instead of sending individual PDF documents to reinforce training received at a national sales manager conference, I created this animated series. Each episode covered the same content that would have been in the static PDF documents. While created to be an internal training series, one region found it useful and chose to share it with their customers.

In episode one, you can see that the Vyond animated series picked up the theme from one of the in-classroom training sessions. (Fun Fact: In the video, I am the one on the far right showing off my pointing skills!)
